STILL MATTER

STILL MATTER stands for sculptural works and light objects made from centennial olive wood, positioned within the language of contemporary collectible design.

Handmade in Mallorca by Iwo Gospodinov, the extremely hard and resistent olive wood is central to his practice. Dense and slow-growing, the material carries visible traces of time within its intricate grain. Circular movements, tonal shifts, and organic fissures shaped by endurance.

In deliberate contrast to this fluid interior life, Gospodinov shapes the wood into restrained, geometric volumes. Planes are clarified. Edges are deliberate. Mass is reduced to essential structure. The work is defined by the dialogue between organic movement and constructed form, the softness of growth held within disciplined architecture.

Through subtraction, he cuts and carves until proportion and spatial balance emerge.

The resulting pieces stand as autonomous spatial objects, grounded, precise, and enduring.
